An exemplar defender of the Third Estate in Ireland (Third Estate being the vast majority of us abandoned by politicians, looted by landlords and politicians such as TD Danny Healy-Rae) Kerrigan has got it badly wrong on Nphet.
We’re not questioning its data, but we are questioning its response to those conclusions. Some of which are less than scientific. Otherwise, why would our testing roll out be so poor and why should people under the age of 35 still be without their vaccine.
In his Sunday Indo column, 4th July, Kerrigan attacks the excellent TD Verona Murphy.
“She’s not challenging any of Nphet’s figures, “I didn’t say I didn’t trust the figures, I said they should be reviewed.” He quotes.
Verona thinks Nphet’s figures should be “peer reviewed”
Kerrigan goes on to try to suggest Verona Murphy is contesting Nphet’s advice. It would appear Verona Murphy is asking for more scientific advice than Kerrigan would like us to have. on postponing the opening of indoor dining and pubs that advised allegedly on the basis of a 5000 word 13 page letter sent by Dr Holohan CMO to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly on June 28.
“It’s got lots of facts and figures and some graphs and tables…” Unfortunately, Kerrigan has been blinded and brainwashed by this document.
Sargant in his book analyses a voodoo ceremony with the example of a sceptical journalist taking part in a dance ceremony accompanied by drumming that led to the collapse of the journalist and her possession by evil spirits.
It was proof by the journalists that such evil spirits do exist. However, analysis of the physiological effects of sound waves on the brain showed an effect similar to the collapse of the Tacoma Bridge, those of us who took Physics back in our school days remember.
The matching of wavelength harmonic frequencies by sound in our brains can have the same effect as that of the harmonic natural wavelength frequency of certain wind conditions on the metal structure of a long bridge. Both can induce collapse.
Unfortunately, Nphetism, the propaganda and brainwashing that uses the 5000 word scientific epidemiological analysis referred to above is endemic it has overcome not only Kerrigan but Donnelly, Harris, Varadkar, Martin and a host of other media sprites!
So much so that those brainwashed by Nphet consider the mere concept of “peer review” the very basis of scientific, objective, empirical analysis, the very basis of science, as unwarranted.
Currently, 18 -34yr olds cannot register online yet to get their vaccine. They can now organise an appointment with a pharmacy for a Johnson and Johnson one shot vaccine.
MRNA such as Pfizer and Pfizer vaccines are effective against the Delta. There is confusing talk that the nearly .5 million doses of Astrazeneca will now be made available to the under 50’s. It definitely appears the decision to refuse Astrazeneca to the under 50’s was a foolish and irresponsible mistake.
Astrazeneca is upwards of 90% effective against the Covid variant but yet Astrazeneca was withdrawn from the under 50’s. They are currently July 4 only working through the 35-39yr cohort many 35 yr olds have not even had their first vaccination. This is slow roll out by any standards.
In Denmark antigen testing has proved very effective

“COPENHAGEN, April 16 (Reuters) – Denmark said on Friday it would reopen the economy sooner than expected as COVID-19 infections decrease, allowing indoor service at restaurants and cafes and football fans to cheer from the stands from April 21, weeks earlier than originally planned.
Denmark has avoided a third wave of the COVID-19 epidemic after imposing wide lockdown measures in December, which slowed the epidemic considerably to between 500-700 daily infections from several thousands in December.
Most of the planned reopening schemes are contingent on the use of a so-called “corona-passport”, which shows whether the holder has been vaccinated, has previously been infected or has taken a test within the last 72 hours.
“Denmark is in a good place with room for further reopening,” Minister of Justice Nick Hekkerup said in a statement.”
Note everything I’ve written above DOES NOT conflict with the 5000 word statement on Coronavirus from Nphet.
On the one hand, we have the epidemiological and scientific analysis of Covid and its Variant; on the other hand, we have the execution of a responsible plan in the face of such evidence.
The latter is far less objective and scientific compared to the former. We need not to swallow the latter because the former is true. Certainly, Denmark have not followed Nphet’s advice and many in Europe wonder why we are the last to end lockdown or why we choose to use mass lockdown as the only de facto tool against the Variant.
There are various ways other governments have been far more successful in responding to the virus than our government has been.
It is a disgrace we do not have proper Antigen testing. Roll out of vaccine has been slow huge numbers of our population still unvaccinated.
Some people need to unplug their brains from the mindless brainwashing that Nphet is doing a great job. Its theoretical modelling of the virus no one questions; its role in the effective and long delayed rollout of vaccines for some, that’s another question entirely.
We are a long way behind Denmark in its response to Covid.
“The difference between Denmark and Ireland’s reopening strategy is mass free testing.
The Danes, with a population of 5.8 million, have a daily testing capacity of 500,000 antigen tests and 200,000 PCR tests. Danes go for regular tests and use negative results to access bars, restaurants and, yes, football stadiums.” Louise Byrne, Prime Time Reporter(1).
We need to question Nphetism through Peer Review and other means.
Nphet’s role in roll out of vaccines and its implementation of a testing regime for Ireland’s population has been less than exemplary and often confusing to the extreme.
Its July 2021 with Delta about and the vast majority of those under 35yrs still not vaccinated?
